The Ark of the Covenant is a chest that is used to house the Tablets of Stone with the 10 Commandments, also thought to contain Aaron’s rod as well as a jar of manna, a food that was considered God’s gift to the Hebrews. Unofficially, that is, not based on the written text of the Bible, the ark is considered to be an electrical battery, which charges more and more as time passes and would electrocute anyone who tries to open it.
As such, many have speculated that the design, if it were to be proven to be electrical, would suggest alien involvement in the making and the production of the artifact. Many expeditions have been launched to find the Ark and to see whether or not the properties it is associated with are true or not.
However, to this day, the Ark has not been found nor did any traces of it ever existing have been shown to be truthful. However, its existence has been used extensively in popular culture, and series such as Indiana Jones and many others have been centered on finding it and uncovering the mystery that surrounds it.
To this day, many nations and areas have been rumored to house the Ark, but none has been able to prove any factual information besides speculation and interpretation of ancient texts. Mount Nebo is considered to be one such place, a peek in Jordan, but the Ethiopian Orthodox church is also claiming to posse the Ark, though no public information has been made available and nobody was allowed to inspect it.
Therefore, it seems that the Ark of the Covenant fares well in its current myth only form, where it is tasked to withholding the answer to many of the Christian faith’s nature and truthfulness.
