Exactly 68 years ago, on 8 July 1947, the Roswell Daily Record published an article about a crashed alien spacecraft that was seen by the military Air Force surveillance. This statement was withdrawn the same day, when the Commanding General of the Eighth Air Force Roger Ramey stated that it was, in fact, a weather balloon. However, still to this day, people believe that the initial claim was not false, and that the military leaked this information by accident, whereas it should have been secret.
According to Major George A. Filer, an Air Force Intelligence Officer, Ramey was forced to lie about this incident. Ramey even confided to his wife that he was ashamed of the lies he was compelled to tell. During his career as an officer, his job was to debrief generals and members of the American congress about the comings and goings of UFO’s. Nuclear physicist and ufologist Stanton T. Friedman believes that an alien spacecraft came down in Roswell and that planet Earth is constantly visited by alien beings. Only a special elite has access to this super-secret information, says Friedman.
After an initial spike of interest, the Roswell incident was forgotten for thirty years. In the late seventies, Friedman published a book about it, after several meetings with witnesses, the most important one being with Major Jesse Marcel. He told Friedman that it was not a weather balloon. He knew this to be true, for he was involved in the process of the alien disk recovery. Another army officer, lieutenant Jack Trowbridge spoke about the appearance of the alien spacecraft: it was covered with symbols that looked a little bit like hieroglyphs. In the 1990s the US military published reports disclosing the true nature of the crashed Project Mogul balloon.
The official explanations offered by the government and military are false, claims Friedman. “There are numerous civilizations in the universe, and we are not so important. [They] don’t want us to know about this.”
